Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients with movement restrictions due to injuries or illnesses, using evidence-based physical therapy practices
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized PT treatment plans in collaboration with the rehabilitation team
- Deliver PT interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, manual therapy, and appropriate modalities
- Document patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record and communicate changes to the care team
- Assist with discharge planning and coordination of care across disciplines, including physicians, nurses, and social work
- Travel between facilities as required to cover the assignment and maintain a consistent schedule
Requirements
- Active Montana Physical Therapist license
- Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Physical Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology; ability to apply PT theory to patient care
- Ability to perform all physical requirements to treat patients, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and mobility tasks
- Experience using computer applications in a healthcare setting; strong documentation and communication skills
- Willingness to travel between facilities in a rural health system as part of a full-time travel assignment
