Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult Med Surg patients within an inpatient medical-surgical unit.
- Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, and treatments; monitor for adverse effects.
- Monitor patient conditions, perform ongoing assessments, document in the EMR (Epic), and report changes to the care team.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to plan and adjust the patient’s plan of care; participate in rounds and discharge planning.
- Float between the medical floor and surgical/oncology units as assigned; maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and follow unit protocols and safety standards.
Requirements
- Med Surg experience: minimum 2 years
- Prior travel experience required
- BLS certification required
- Ability to float between medical floor and surgical/oncology units
- Proficiency with Epic EMR
