Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on a medical step-down/pCU unit, managing conditions such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and IV therapies per orders, and respond to changes in condition following ACLS/BLS guidelines.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans; document accurately in the electronic medical record; communicate changes to families and team members.
- Maintain patient safety and quality care with an approximately 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; perform frequent assessments, preventive care, and timely escalation when needed.
- May float to IMCU units (5J and 12A most common) as staffing needs require; adapt to unit-specific protocols and procedures as assigned.

Requirements
- Active registered nurse license (Georgia) or eligibility to practice per assignment requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in PCU/step-down or an equivalent acute care setting
- ACLS and BLS certifications current and in good standing
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts; 4 days per week; comfortable with float to IMCU units
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment
