Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to medical-surgical telemetry patients, including assessment and ongoing monitoring
- Manage telemetry data, interpret rhythm strips, and respond promptly to alarms and changes in patient status
- Administer prescribed medications and adhere to medication administration protocols
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation, care plans, and timely communication with the interdisciplinary team
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurse, and support staff to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on treatments, procedures, and post-discharge care as appropriate
Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg Telemetry experience
- Ability to pass Telemetry Competency Exam; documented on onboarding
- Onboarding tests: ECG/Telemetry and medications test; one attempt only; passing score ~85%
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; current AHABLS certification noted in job requirements
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and rotate weekends/holidays as needed
- Non-local travel: must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local travelers not accepted
- Documentation of professional development activities
