Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and assist the surgical team by passing instruments, implants, and supplies; maintain strict sterile technique
- Maintain accurate instrument, sponge, and item counts; anticipate needs during procedures
- Set up, verify, and break down operating rooms; ensure equipment and supplies are readily available
- Assist surgeons intraoperatively; handle specimens and assist with wound care as directed
- Adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols; document perioperative details per policy
- Communicate clearly with anesthesia, nursing, and surgical teams to support patient care and workflow
Requirements
- Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
- Travel assignment experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- Burn experience preferred
- Available for day shift with call on weekends and holidays; able to participate in on-call coverage
- Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
