Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adults undergoing endoscopy procedures and related pre- and post-procedure recovery, within a Level 3 Medical-Surgical unit.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to implement and evaluate individualized plans of care, based on comprehensive assessments and current best practices.
- Monitor patient status, manage peri-procedural sedation, and respond to changes in condition with appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the patient record using SBAR and adhere to clinical practice models and unit-based competency objectives.
- Ensure adherence to infection-control standards, patient safety protocols, and evolving care plans; participate in continuous quality improvement and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, provide education as needed, and uphold professional standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Adhere to the unit’s attendance expectations and policies, with awareness that absences or late arrivals may impact patient care; exceptions may apply in cases of documented illness or hospitalization.

Requirements
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse license
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Endoscopy nursing experience: 2+ years (RN Endoscopy required)
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in medical-surgical care and endoscopy-related perioperative processes
- Ability to work in a busy Level 3 Medical-Surgical unit and participate in a virtual staffing model
- Strong communication skills, SBAR proficiency, and collaboration with the healthcare team
