Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient outcomes and implement changes to the plan of care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide explanations and instructions regarding respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge to patients and/or responsible persons; confirm understanding.
- Accept reassignment to other units when necessary to support patient care needs.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students; serve as a clinical practice role model.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care; deliver respiratory therapies as ordered by the physician, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license (RRT)
- BLS certification
- NRP-MHC certification
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy (or equivalent)
- Ability to work nights in a hospital setting
- Eligible for a travel - temporary assignment
