Responsibilities
- Assist the surgical team in the preparation of procedures in the operating room
- Create and maintain a sterile field; retract and pass instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases
- Perform a variety of technical tasks, including the maintenance of supplies and equipment
- Contribute to intraoperative patient care as part of the operating room services
- Support departments related to surgical services, which may include perfusion services and inpatient/outpatient care, while not providing PACU, anesthesia, pre-op holding, or central sterile functions
- Adhere to sterile technique, safety protocols, and perioperative best practices
Requirements
- Ability to work in an operating room environment
- Knowledge of sterile field maintenance and aseptic technique
- Ability to assist with instrument handling, passing supplies, and supporting the surgical team during procedures
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to support intraoperative care
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment and adapt to a rotating schedule as needed
