Responsibilities
- Provide bedside and clinical nursing care within the scope of practice for a correctional setting, including routine assessments and monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, verify dosages, and document in the electronic health record with accuracy.
- Monitor vital signs, identify changes in condition, and respond to routine and emergent medical needs during night shifts.
- Assist with triage, basic wound care, wound dressings, and ongoing patient education while maintaining patient privacy and safety.
- Coordinate with physicians, physician assistants, nursing colleagues, and on-site security to ensure safe and compliant care delivery.
- Apply infection control protocols, manage charting and medication reconciliation, and uphold confidentiality and safety standards.
