Responsibilities
- Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, and coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.
- Documents assessments, plans, interventions, and patient responses; updates care plans as needed and communicates changes to the care team.
- Monitors patient status, implements prescribed therapies, and escalates concerns to the appropriate provider in a timely manner.
- Participates in discharge planning and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient transitions of care.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license to practice in California (or eligible to obtain CA license)
- ICU/critical care nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to work in a hospital ICU environment and to perform duties during 12-hour night shifts
