Registered Nurse – Med Surg, in Hilo, Hawaii. This travel assignment begins 06/01/2026 and runs for approximately 13 weeks. Weekly pay ranges from $1,778 to $1,923. Shift is 12-hour days, with 3 shifts per week (3x12s) and about 36 hours per week following orientation; there is no guaranteed minimum hours. Assignments involve floating to multiple inpatient units as needed within an inpatient care setting. Orientation is provided, and arrival before the start date is required for employee health clearance (report the Thursday prior to start).

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult inpatients across assigned units, including medical and surgical patients
- Float to Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and occasional Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; monitor responses and document in the electronic medical record (Meditech EMR)
- Perform general procedures and care tasks (wound VAC management, chest tube care, dressings, drains) as trained
- Monitor vital signs, I&O, lab results, and patient status; respond to changes in condition per protocol
- Educate patients and families, coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and ensure safety and infection control standards

Requirements
- Hawaii RN license active by start date; travelers without HIlicensure must apply upon acceptance and obtain Hawaii licensure by start
- CPR/BLS required; ACLS (required or strongly preferred) with additional certifications (PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC) preferred
- 2–10 years of relevant medical-surgical nursing experience
- Ability to float between Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN licensure in Hawaii
- Documentation of immunity (medical or religious exemptions not accepted in lieu of proof); must meet facility’s immunization requirements
- Must be able to work in an inpatient care setting and adapt to unit-specific training and orientation
