Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) in an inpatient medical-surgical setting in Illinois, United States. This is a travel temporary assignment starting May 25, 2026 for 13 weeks. The role offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week on a 3x12 night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Weekly pay ranges from $2,048 to $2,083. Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for Med Surg patients; provide clinical leadership to the patient care team during the assigned shift.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments per facility policy, and respond to changes in condition with appropriate escalation.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff; participate in handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds; ensure comprehensive documentation in the electronic health record.
- Maintain patient safety and quality of care through adherence to protocols, infection control practices, and patient education.
- Support and supervise junior staff and orient new team members as needed; participate in unit-level quality and safety initiatives.
- Complete required documentation, charting, and reviews in a timely manner; ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license (Nursys verification required)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) current
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required within 30 days of start
- Minimum 3 years of Med Surg experience
- Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment area
- Two Supervisory Reference Forms completed with dates employed listed
- Skills checklist current to the last year and relevant to Med Surg
- Ability to work in an inpatient Med Surg setting and to cover night shifts
- State licenses: Illinois
