Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an assigned group of patients according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Collect relevant data, assess patient health, develop and implement a care plan, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor responses and patient safety; document care in the electronic health record (Epic).
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team; participate in discharge planning and provide education to patients and families.
- Promote a safe, healing environment and facilitate continuity of care across transitions.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) – Required
- Certifications: CPR/BLS – Required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required
- Facility and department certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Stroke assessment: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – Required
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent RN experience in acute care; Epic experience required
- Additional: Ability to work in a fast-paced rehab-focused acute care environment; willingness to work the specified 7:00 AM–7:30 PM schedule
