Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to medical-surgical patients within the unit, following nursing protocols and facility policies.
- Perform timely assessments, administer medications, manage IV therapy, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record, ensuring clear communication during handoffs and continuity of care.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; respond to emergencies with appropriate action, including CPR/BLS as needed.
- Educate patients and families about plan of care, discharge instructions, and post-hospital care requirements.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in California.
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg/acute care experience in the specified unit within the last 3 months.
- CPR or BLS certification required.
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted.
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour day shift in an acute care setting and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
