This role is for a traveling Respiratory Therapist specializing as an RRT, providing clinical coverage in a hospital environment for a 13-week contract.

Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed respiratory therapies (oxygen, aerosol therapies, airway clearance techniques) and monitor patient responses.
- Manage ventilator support per physician orders and protocols; adjust settings as appropriate.
- Assess patients requiring respiratory care, document findings, and communicate changes to the care team.
- Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation as directed; participate in weaning and extubation readiness when indicated.
- Maintain infection control practices, device hygiene, and equipment safety; accurately document care and interventions.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and discharge expectations; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and float to areas within scope as needed.
Requirements
- Active Michigan license as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or eligible
- Certifications: NRP, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RRT experience required
- Travel experience: Preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) and to float to other areas as qualified
- Must be able to meet the physical and clinical requirements of a hospital setting
