Responsibilities
- Process and sterilize surgical and hospital instruments and equipment; assemble instrument sets and trays; decontaminate and record instrument counts
- Sterilize instruments, trays, basins, and related items with appropriate exposure/dry times; prepare instruments for immediate-use sterilization as needed
- Maintain a clean, orderly department; perform autoclave cleaning and weekly chamber cleaning; assist with room turnover and related duties as directed
- Perform daily diagnostic testing on sterilizing equipment (test packs, biological indicators, diagnostic cycles for Endoscope Processors) and document results
- Provide reprocessing services for instruments used in ancillary departments and assist in operating room, recovery, outpatient endoscopy, and central sterile areas as assigned; track and log loaner instruments

Requirements
- Sterile Processing Technician certification: Required
- Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification: Required
- Education: High School/GED required; Associate’s/Technical degree or equivalent preferred
- Experience: At least two years of recent sterile processing experience
- Licenses/credentials: Current BLS; current nursing license per the state of assignment
- Ability to work in a travel assignment within the stated setting and location (Los Angeles, CA)
