Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing procedures, following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient needs, plan care, and respond to intraoperative changes to support safe, efficient outcomes.
- Administer medications and monitor patient status before, during, and after procedures.
- Supervise and direct activities of OR staff at various levels, coordinating care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other disciplines.
- Maintain sterile technique, infection control practices, and accurate documentation throughout the perioperative period.
- Apply critical thinking and independent judgment to protect patient safety and optimize care delivery in a dynamic surgical environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California (CA RN) or as otherwise required for practice in the state.
- Operating Room (OR) nursing experience is preferred for this specialty.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting on a travel assignment and to meet assignment criteria.
- Willingness to work 10-hour day shifts, typically 40 hours per week, on a 4x10-hour schedule.
