Travel Physical Therapist Job
Physical Therapist (PT) position in Kodiak, Alaska, starting 06/08/2026 for a travel assignment lasting several weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,252 to $2,294 per week. Guaranteed hours: 72 hours per 2 weeks (traveler may be called off for one 8-hour shift every 2 weeks). Shift: 5x8 days. Practice involves a rural care setting with exposure to outpatient, inpatient, and long-term care (SNF) patient populations, including wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, and pediatrics, serving adults and geriatrics.

Responsibilities
- Perform PT evaluations, develop and implement plans of care, and monitor progress for adults and older adults across outpatient, inpatient, and SNF settings
- Conduct gait training, transfers (Hoyer/lifts), and therapeutic exercises; address orthopedic, neurology, and functional mobility needs
- Provide wound care, lymphedema management, pelvic floor therapy, and pediatric-focused services as appropriate
- Document in Epic; communicate findings and goals with the care team; participate in discharge planning and patient/family education
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; float coverage to outpatient, acute care, and select SNF environments as needed
- Maintain patient safety, adhere to infection control and charting standards, and complete required pre-start modules
Requirements
- Current Alaska state PT license (valid; pending licenses not accepted)
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year PT experience; first-time travelers accepted; pediatrics/adolescents experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work across outpatient, inpatient, and SNF settings; wound care, lymphedema, pelvic floor, pediatrics experience as applicable
- Epic charting experience required
- Weekend availability; holiday coverage for 2 of the 3 major holidays; ability to float to affiliate sites
- Pre-start training modules (~16 hours) required prior to start
- Locals not accepted — candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the listed Kodiak location
- Hepatitis B vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Vehicle use and facility housing available for traveler; 72 hours before start and up to 24 hours after end; if using facility housing, stipend is not provided
