Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Tele unit, including initial and ongoing assessments, care planning, and evaluation.
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse effects, manage IV therapy, and document care in the electronic medical record (Epic).
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, participate in rounds, and communicate with physicians and support staff.
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, and respond to changes in condition; implement safety protocols and initiate escalation as needed.
- Assist with discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of care transitions.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
- 2+ years of Med Surg/Tele experience
- Certifications: BLS (AHA) and ACLS
- Epic experience required
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including days and nights; every other weekend and holiday
- Float: No
