Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to adult and newborn patients per physician orders, including ventilator management and ABG collection/interpretation.
- Administer prescribed therapies (oxygen, humidified therapy, NIV, chest physiotherapy, and aerosolized medications) and monitor patient response.
- Participate in deliveries and provide newborn respiratory support; note that no NICU is on site; ensure appropriate handoff and documentation.
- Monitor patient status, interpret trends, and document care in the chart; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and physicians.
- Ensure compliance with required certifications and participate in ongoing competency activities; maintain equipment and adhere to infection control protocols.
Requirements
- Active Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure (California) required.
- NBRC-RRT or NBRC-CRT credential required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required at time of hire or within 90 days.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required at time of hire or within 90 days.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months; newborn experience is a must.
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.

- Willingness to work night shifts in a hospital setting with newborn deliveries (no NICU on site).
