Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult patients on a neuro/PCU step-down unit, aligned with RN scope of practice.
- Monitor neurological status, administer medications, perform neuro assessments including NIHSS as part of standard care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust the plan of care; escalate changes promptly.
- Document thoroughly in EPIC, including medications, orders, vitals, neurological findings, and discharge planning notes.
- Manage common clinical tasks: IV therapy, wound care support, mobility assistance, monitor devices, and handle patient safety protocols.
- Support patient and family education regarding condition, treatments, and post-discharge needs; participate in handoffs and shift changes.

Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Georgia; Nursys license verification may be required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Neuro/PCU or step-down setting; strong med/surg background accepted if NIHSS, ACLS, and some step-down experience are demonstrated.
- NIHSS capability required; must have NIHSS documented in the CV packet to be considered.
- ACLS certification and EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Shift flexibility to cover nights; no block scheduling; weekends may be required.
- Must have current documentation: resume/work history with minimal gaps, skills checklist, references, certification card, and demographic profile with badge-style photo.
