Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR) travel assignment in the Kansas City, KS area. Start date 08/02/2026 for 13 weeks, with a weekly pay range of $2,270–$2,439 per week. Shift is 3x12-hour days. Employment type: Travel - Temporary Assignment in a hospital setting. This role requires an active Kansas RN license and AHA BLS, with the ability to float to all ORs and participate in on-call coverage per contract.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, perioperative patient care in the operating room, maintaining patient safety and adherence to sterile technique.
- Scrub for procedures, assist surgeons and anesthesia, pass instruments, and manage the sterile field throughout cases.
- Prepare and position patients, verify team and patient identifiers, label specimens, and ensure correct equipment readiness.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status, respond to changes, and communicate effectively with the team during emergent or complex cases.
- Support a range of case types including DaVinci robotic-assisted procedures, large head/neck cases, neuro spine, and ex-lap, while maintaining surgeon preference cards and safety protocols.
- Document perioperative care, track room turnover, and assist with post-anesthesia recovery as needed.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in Kansas; BLS (AHA) certification required
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program; RN degree with active KS license
- Experience: 2+ years of OR experience with Level 1 trauma experience; strong scrub experience
- Skills: Proficiency with scrub duties, sterile technique, and familiarity with DaVinci robot cases, large head and neck cases, neuro spine, and ex-lap procedures
- Flexibility: Ability to float to all ORs; on-call required up to 6 shifts per 13-week contract
- Schedule considerations: Weekend coverage not required; holidays may be required if scheduled on set days
