This opening is for a travel PACU RN traveling assignment. The position requires starting within the next week, and involves a mix of 8- and 12-hour shifts with a focus on post-anesthesia care in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive post-anesthesia care to PACU patients, including monitoring and supporting vital signs, cardiac rhythm, and total patient stability
- Manage complex care needs, including arterial lines and multiple titrating drips, in a high-acuity PACU setting
- Respond rapidly to patient status changes, escalate to anesthesia and surgical teams as needed, and implement emergent interventions per protocol
- Document care thoroughly in the electronic medical record (Epic) and ensure continuity of care across perioperative stages
- Coordinate patient flow from PACU to appropriate recovery or unit units, ensuring safe discharge planning
- Provide patient and family education as appropriate and uphold patient safety, infection control, and comfort measures
Requirements
- Active RN license; license on file at time of submission
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- Experience: minimum 3 years of clinical experience, 2 years in PACU; strong critical care PACU skills including art lines, titrating drips, and cardiac monitoring
- Large teaching hospital experience preferred; Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and nonnegotiable
- Ability to work in a high-acuity PACU environment and to float as needed; weekend and call requirements per schedule
- Note: start within the next week is required
