Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Med Surg, travel assignment in Saint Johnsbury Center, Vermont. Start date: 06/10/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,863-$1,957 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: Night (3x12-hour shifts, 7pm–7am). Setting: Rural Critical Access Hospital with a general Med/Surg unit that cares for adults and occasional pediatric patients. The role supports medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care under the Nursing Process, with collaboration across an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients, with occasional pediatric patients, in a general Med/Surg unit
- Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate responses using the Nursing Process
- Administer medications, monitor for adverse reactions, manage IV therapy, and perform common Med/Surg procedures
- Collaborate with the Unit Director, Clinical Nurse Lead, Nursing Supervisor, and interdisciplinary teammates to coordinate patient care
- Monitor patients for evolving conditions, respond to emergencies, and arrange appropriate follow-up care and referrals
- Document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes accurately; ensure effective handoffs during shift changes
Requirements
- Active Vermont RN license or multi-state RN licensure
- BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of acute care experience; preference for candidates with Meditech experience
- Ability to work in a general Med/Surg unit with adult and occasional pediatric patients (not a pediatric-only unit)
- Start date must be feasible for onboarding on 06/10/2026; ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
- Flu vaccination required
