Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including triage, initial assessment, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring of patients with diverse acute conditions.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as ordered; assist with procedures and support rapid response to deteriorating patients.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and case management to ensure timely diagnoses, safe dispositions, and effective care transitions.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record; maintain compliance with privacy, safety, and infection control standards.
- Provide patient and family education, support discharge planning, and coordinate referrals as appropriate.
- Maintain high performance in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment; participate in quality improvement and ensure patient safety at all times.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (current or conditional) with NURSYS verification pulled within the last 7 days; must show all licenses (past and present).
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Acute care/ED experience required; EMR experience preferred (EPIC is specifically mentioned as preferred).
- Ability to work 12-hour evening shifts and to rotate weekends/holidays; valid driver’s license with address matching demographics required.
- Must include RTO information at submission; travel experience documentation requested; first-time travelers considered after evaluation of notes and qualifications.
