Travel Registered Nurse ICU Job
Registered Nurse - ICU/Stepdown (Travel) is available in Rochester, New York. This travel assignment begins on 06/08/2026 for a 13-week duration. The role offers a weekly pay range of $2,086 to $2,196, with shifts of 12 hours and a rotating D/E/N schedule. The position is in a hospital setting, requiring accurate clinical judgment, teamwork, and adherence to established standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for Level II/step-down patients, with high-acuity stroke and neurosurgery cases, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager
- Perform neuro assessments (Q1 neuro checks), monitor telemetry, and manage neuro devices (EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, VP shunts) as part of routine care
- Administer and monitor medications and infusions (including 3% NS and Cardene drips), arterial lines, and other critical care interventions
- Collaborate with charge nurse, precept new staff, and participate in unit committees as assigned
- Ensure adherence to BLS and ACLS protocols (ACLS preferred) and maintain care standards for neurology and neurosurgery patients
- Provide effective handoffs during shift changes and participate in on-call/holiday rotations as required
Requirements
- Active New York RN license
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with stepdown/PCU and telemetry background
- Must have step-down/PCU experience and telemetry experience
- High-acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required
- ACLS preferred; NIHSS preferred
- Must have experience in Q1 neuro checks and managing neuro-related devices and conditions (EVDs, lumbar drains, subdural drains, 3% NS, Cardene infusions, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm clips/coil, DBS, VP shunts, seizures)
