Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse – First Assist (Cardiac RNFA) in a hospital setting, Rochester, New York. Start date: May 11, 2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,944 – $3,220 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0. Shift: 3x12-hour shifts, typically weekdays 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m., with on-call responsibilities as unit needs dictate. This is a travel - temporary assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct RN First Assist support for cardiac surgeries, including chest exposure and wound closure.
- Independently perform vein harvesting for CABG procedures when required.
- Assist with DaVinci robotic cases when applicable; capable of scrubbing and circulating complex cardiac cases as needed.
- Support a range of cardiac procedures, including CABGs, structural heart cases (e.g., Bentall), minimally invasive valve procedures, and heart failure interventions (e.g., Impella).
- Participate in heart transplant cases when experience is available; transplant experience is preferred.
- Maintain telemetry monitoring and patient safety during perioperative and immediate postoperative periods; collaborate with surgeons, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure aseptic technique and efficient case flow.
Requirements
- Current New York State RN license
- CNOR certification
- BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
- Telemetry experience
- Ability to work in a hospital OR environment and participate in a travel temporary assignment
