Responsibilities
- Monitor telemetry and respond to alarms; trend and interpret telemetry strips to identify changes in patient status
- Administer medications and IV therapies per orders, and document administration in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care across units and ensure safe patient transitions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR and ensure compliance with unit protocols
- Adapt to multiple Telemetry/MedSurg units as needed and participate in unit handoffs and patient reassignments
Requirements
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
- 2+ years of recent acute care experience with telemetry; Meditech IVs; and EPIC experience
- Ability to independently read telemetry strips and pass an on-site exam on Day 1 with 84% or better (2 attempts)
- Willingness to adapt quickly to different units; float experience 3–5 years preferred (able to work across up to 5 MedSurg/Tele units)
