Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive ED nursing care for acutely ill or injured patients, including initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and treatments, perform nursing procedures, monitor responses, and document findings in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the care team to develop and adjust patient care plans; support patient flow and safety.
- Respond to emergencies and code events per established protocols; initiate rapid assessment and interventions as needed.
- Educate patients and families about treatments, discharge planning, and post-ED care; ensure infection control and safety standards are maintained.
- Float to units within scope of practice as needed; adhere to unit policies and maintain professional standards.
Requirements
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of ER experience; travel experience preferred
- Shift readiness: Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, with weekend rotation and unit float within scope of practice
- Orientation: Virtual orientation scheduled on start date; 8 hours non-billable orientation
- Licensing: Licensure requirements are defined by the assignment notes; follow applicable regulatory standards for ER nursing in the listed location
