Responsibilities
- Operate GE MRI scanner to perform diagnostic MRI studies following approved protocols
- Prepare patients for scans, explain the procedure, and help maintain patient comfort and safety
- Insert IVs when necessary and monitor patient condition during imaging
- Coordinate with physicians and radiologists to ensure timely delivery of images and reporting
- Maintain a clean, safe scanning facility and document all procedures while protecting patient confidentiality
- Assist with patient care tasks as needed and ensure accurate record-keeping of imaging procedures
Requirements
- Associate degree in magnetic resonance imaging or radiology
- Certification through the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- GE MRI scanner experience required
- Injection certification required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Two years of MRI experience
- NYS Radiologic Technologist license: willing to obtain after starting
- Ability to work in a high-volume imaging environment and stand for extended periods
- Familiarity with medical terminology and teamwork in a Level 1 trauma center setting
