Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy assistant services under the plan developed with the supervising physical therapist, focusing on LTAC-resident needs
- Conduct therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, range of motion activities, and pain-relief modalities as permitted and documented in patient records
- Monitor patient response to treatment, document progress, and communicate changes in status to the supervising PT and interdisciplinary team
- Assist with patient education, safety strategies for transfers, mobility, and functional tasks to promote independence
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure therapy sessions are recorded per facility policy, and uphold infection control and safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing and therapy colleagues to coordinate care, discharge planning, and goal attainment for each resident
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in Pennsylvania or current eligibility for licensure
- Associate degree from an approved PTA program
- Ability to work in a long-term acute care / skilled nursing setting
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment with a 5x8 day shift
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; commitment to patient safety and quality of care
