Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group using the nursing process and established standards.
- Collect and analyze patient data; develop a care plan, implement interventions, and monitor progress toward outcomes.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff, and delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Communicate with patients, families, and the treatment team; provide health education and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain a safe, healing environment; document care activities and patient responses, with proficiency in the EPIC system.
- Collaborate to promote a smooth transition of care from admission to discharge and participate in ongoing quality improvement where applicable.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Active RN licensure in the state of practice (California) or as required by the state of assignment.
- Certifications: Current BLS (American Heart Association) or ARC Basic Life Support; AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS; AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS; NIH Stroke Scale – all required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent, relevant nursing experience in the field.
- Education: BSN preferred.
- Other: Ability to work in a hospital setting; EPIC experience required.
