Registered Nurse – PCU for a travel assignment in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital. Start date: 06/28/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,035–$2,186 per week. Guaranteed hours: 0.0. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. This position focuses on high-acuity patient care in a PCU/step-down environment with potential to float to ICU and other inpatient units as needed. This is a travel - temporary assignment through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for PCU/ICU-level patients, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, and responding to acute changes in condition.
- Manage CRRT and BiPAP therapies; draw labs, process specimens, and monitor results per protocol.
- Care for chest tubes and PICC lines; maintain sterile technique and monitor for complications.
- Float to ICU and other inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED) as assigned; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team; call on own consults and participate in codes as needed.
- Day-1 open-heart care with pacer wires; coordinate post-operative care with surgical teams and ensure appropriate care plans.
Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license or compact RN license; BLS, ACLS, and NIHF required.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care/Intensive Care experience.
- Experience with CRRT, BiPAP, drawing labs; chest tubes and PICC line care.
- Comfortable conducting own codes and calling own consults; no dedicated vascular access team.
- Open heart day 1 experience with pacer wires.
- Ability to float to ICU and all inpatient units (Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, ED) as needed.
