Responsibilities
- Deliver direct, compassionate nursing care to ICU patients with complex conditions (e.g., respiratory failure, kidney failure, COPD, CHF, MI)
- Monitor hemodynamics, ventilator support, and administer medications per physician orders
- Perform ongoing patient assessments, contribute to care plans, and document in the Epic electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team; participate in rounds and care coordination
- Maintain a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio; promptly identify deterioration and escalate as needed
- Uphold patient safety, infection prevention, administer procedures within scope, and support family communication
Requirements
- ICU nursing experience: 2 years required
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
- EMR: Epic experience or proficiency
- Education: Degree accreditation must be on profile, or 5 years of ICU experience
- Additional notes: Floating to sister campuses may be required; RTO submissions must be provided at submittal and are not approved post-submission; radius rule 50 miles applies; load demographic information (address, email, full DOB, full SSN, RN license number) at submission
