Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult Med/Surg patients, including stroke care on the same floor
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, and carry out physician orders with accuracy
- Perform ongoing assessments, respond promptly to changes in condition, and escalate as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, unit staff, and interdisciplinary teams; document thoroughly in the electronic health record
- Support discharge planning and patient/family education to promote safe transitions
- Maintain patient safety, wound and IV care, and adherence to infection control protocols
Requirements
- NIHSS certification required for stroke care responsibilities
- Ability to work nights and participate in an every-other-weekend scheduling pattern
- Capacity to function effectively in a fast-paced hospital Med/Surg environment
- Commitment to patient safety and high-quality care on a travel assignment
