Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for a group of patients in the med-surg setting using the nursing process.
- Assess patient condition, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes; document accurately.
- Administer medications and treatments per policy; monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient status.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Ensure patient safety, accuracy of handoffs, and adherence to standards of care and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the care team; provide patient education as appropriate.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse license in California
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical experience or recent med-surg experience
- Ability to work nights in an inpatient med-surg setting
- Strong critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work across units as needed and supervise nursing staff as assigned
