Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department, including triage, initial assessment, treatment, and discharge planning for patients from newborns to geriatrics.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and therapies as ordered, and escalate care when needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to implement and adjust individualized care plans.
- Document assessments, interventions, and discharge instructions accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain patient safety, comfort, privacy, and assist with procedures and equipment as delegated.
- Support the CNA team where applicable and communicate changes in patient status promptly to the care team.
Requirements
- Active registered nursing license in California (or eligible for CA licensure)
- Emergency Department experience or exposure in an acute care setting preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
- Strong triage, assessment, and documentation skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a fast-paced environment
