Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) – Perioperative Services | San Luis Obispo, California | Start date 04/27/2026 | 13-week travel assignment | $2,599–$2,812 per week | 5x8 rotating shifts | Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting. This travel assignment is with Healthforce Healthcare LLC and requires active perioperative involvement with spine, orthopedic, and robot-assisted procedures.

Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures as a trained RNFA, including spine, ortho, and robot-assisted cases
- Maintain sterile technique, manage instrumentation, and ensure proper exposure and tissue handling
- Provide intraoperative support such as retraction, suction, hemostasis, and communication with the surgical team
- Participate in patient positioning, intraoperative counts, and documentation of operative events
- Collaborate with anesthesia, circulating nurses, and other perioperative staff to promote patient safety and efficient case flow
Requirements
- Active RN license in California
- Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience; eligible for RNFA practice in perioperative services
- Experience in primary spine, orthopedic, and robot-assisted surgeries
- Education: Associate Degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS required; PALS preferred; CNOR preferred
- Ability to work in a perioperative setting with a rotating 5x8 schedule and call
