Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg|Tele Job
Registered Nurse — Med Surg/Tele (Travel) in Watertown, NY. This 13-week travel assignment begins 07/27/2026 with shifts on days (12-hour), typically 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Expect approximately 36 hours per week with weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements. The RN will float to Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units within an acute care setting. Requires current NY license, BLS and ACLS, and coronary care experience. Prior traveler experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered. MEDITECH charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult patients across Med/Surg, Telemetry, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units as assigned
- Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage IV therapies, and respond to clinical changes
- Document care and events accurately in MEDITECH charting; ensure timely, clear communication with the care team
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to develop and implement patient care plans; educate patients and families
- Ensure patient safety through accurate monitoring, use of lifting devices, and adherence to infection control and safety protocols
- May assume charge nurse duties as assigned; demonstrate leadership, prioritization, and delegation in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain compliance with BLS/ACLS requirements and maintain readiness for rapid response or code events
Requirements
- Active New York Registered Nurse license
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Coronary Care experience required
- Previous hospital RN experience preferred; at least one prior traveler assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Ability to float to Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, and Pediatric units; comfortable using MEDITECH charting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; able to work in a high-stress environment
