Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients.
- Perform IV therapy, wound care, peripheral line care, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and basic med-surg procedures within scope.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses; manage insulin/heparin administration as needed; coordinate discharge planning and patient/family education.
- Monitor patient status, document in the Epic charting system, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning.
- Ensure safety and infection control practices; assist with routine procedures and respond to patient needs across shifts; float to other units as needed within skillset.
Requirements
- Active New York RN license at time of submission.
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience.
- Prior travel nursing experience required.
- Epic experience required.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Relias EKG exam completed within 72 hours of start and meet facility pass criteria.
