Responsibilities
- Assess patient and family needs using active listening and data from assessments, then develop an individualized plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Provide direct patient care, monitor progress, and adjust the plan as condition changes, while ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse effects and respond appropriately
- Educate patients and families about self-care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote health and healing at home
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines to optimize care delivery and coordinate transitions across the episode of care
Requirements
- Current NYS RN license required
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or RQI) required; NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 1 year Med/Surg RN experience; oncology exposure preferred
- Education: graduate of an approved nursing program; RN licensure in New York State
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour rotating schedule (day/night) and participate in on-call shifts; capable of caring for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions
