Responsibilities
- Assess residents’ physical therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence.
- Implement evidence-based interventions, including therapeutic exercises and gait training, to advance rehabilitation goals.
- Monitor progress, document sessions, and adjust treatment plans based on patient response and goals.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy) to coordinate care and support discharge planning.
- Educate residents and families on home exercise programs, safety, and strategies to maintain gains after discharge.
- Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory and facility policies.
Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
- Active Massachusetts physical therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Massachusetts.
- Relevant clinical experience in geriatrics or a skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Availability to commit to a 40-hour week on a daytime schedule for a 13-week travel assignment starting 11/30/2026.
