Registered Nurse (CVICU) – Robbinsdale, Minnesota, United States. Travel assignment starting 07/20/2026 for 13 weeks in a cardiovascular intensive care unit within an acute care setting. Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, nurse-led care to CVICU patients, including post-open-heart surgery and other adult cardiothoracic cases
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, identify outcomes, develop and revise the plan of care, and coordinate multidisciplinary care
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamics; interpret telemetry data and respond to physiologic changes
- Administer medications and manage advanced cardiovascular supports (may include devices such as Impella and balloon pumps; involvement is preferred)
- Document care in the electronic health record; ensure adherence to standards of nursing practice and safety protocols
- Support patient and family education, discharge planning, and collaboration with ancillary teams to optimize recovery
Requirements
- Active Minnesota RN license
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC) required
- 1+ year of CVICU or cardiothoracic ICU experience; experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients required
- Interpretation of cardiac rhythms required
- Adult and geriatric population experience required
- Epic experience required
- Two supervisory references with dates employed listed
