Travel Registered Nurse CVICU Job
Registered Nurse - CVICU travel assignment in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, United States. Start date: 06/08/2026. Contract duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,511 to $2,647 per week. Shift: 5x8 nights. Setting: CVICU unit within a healthcare facility. This is a travel - temporary assignment requiring appropriate licensure, certifications, and experience to support post-operative cardiac care and critical care nursing.

Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, patient- and family-centered nursing care in the CVICU for post-operative patients, including those who have undergone open-heart surgery.
- Monitor hemodynamics, interpret cardiac rhythms, and manage devices and therapies as ordered (including familiarity with emergent cardiac situations).
- Administer medications and vasoactive infusions per protocol, assess responses, and adjust plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Develop and revise the patient’s plan of care, coordinate care across disciplines, and delegate activities to other care providers as appropriate.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic; ensure accuracy and compliance with standards of nursing practice.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and post-operative care; promote safety, infection control, and evidence-based practices.
- Work with adult and geriatric populations; unit-specific requirements may apply and scope of practice may vary with patient needs.
Requirements
- Active Minnesota RN license or eligibility to practice in Minnesota
- BLS and ACLS (ACLS from American Heart Association or ARC) current and required
- Epic experience required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience; experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients and interpretation of cardiac rhythms required
- Experience with post-operative cardiac patients; Impella and balloon pump experience preferred
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric populations in a CVICU setting; unit-based skill proficiency per specialty
- Weekend work: Every Other Weekend; Nights/8-hour shifts; 56 hours per 2-week period
- Two supervisory references with dates of employment (required)
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program (standard requirement for practice)
