Physical Therapist – Physical therapy specialist in an outpatient rehabilitation setting on a travel temporary assignment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement patient rehabilitation programs to improve mobility, function, and strength
- Evaluate and treat patients undergoing physical therapy and rehabilitation
- Document evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries, and other records in the electronic medical record
- Guide, supervise, and collaborate with PT Assistants and Aides on patient care
- Communicate with physicians and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate patient charts and follow up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations
- Answer patient questions, support comfort and safety, and coordinate with front-office staff on scheduling and follow-up
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer systems (typing, Word, Internet, EMR) and participate in business development/referral activities
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy policies and procedures; protect patient information and privacy
- Maintain up-to-date professional credentials and continuing education as needed
- Demonstrate the ability to perform required physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting with transfers and mobility

Requirements
- Degree in Physical Therapy
- Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and basic computer skills
- Ability to work in an outpatient/rehabilitation setting and to manage a full day of patient care
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team
- Physical ability to perform the duties, including standing/walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting with patient mobility
- Preferred: continuing education courses and ongoing professional development
