Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Surgical Services Specialty RN Traveler in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, starting 07/20/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,176–$2,197 per week. Shift: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with rotating start times. Setting: healthcare facility-based surgical services and pain management activities, with nurse navigation responsibilities to support continuity of care.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate care for assigned specialty service line patients from initial visit through surgery/procedure and follow-up care
- Serve as liaison among the care team, providers, and patients; function as a nurse navigator to ensure continuity of care
- Provide RN-level patient care: assessment, care planning, treatment support, monitoring, reassessment, and education
- Follow up on outstanding orders, referrals, prior authorizations, and related documentation; verify chart preparation and insurance authorizations
- Triage patient phone calls, route messages in the electronic health record, and respond to patient portal messages
- Administer medications using correct technique and document accurately in the EHR
- Educate patients and families about conditions, procedures, post-procedure care, and rehabilitation goals
- Complete intake assessments, medication/allergy reconciliation, and surgical/procedure history documentation; submit booking sheets for procedures as directed
- Initiate medication prior authorizations and DME paperwork as needed
- Maintain clean, stocked exam/procedure rooms and sterile fields; support staff through training and collaboration
- Uphold patient confidentiality, infection prevention standards, and professional communication at all times
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Current BLS for healthcare providers
- ACLS certification
- Minimum 5 years of outpatient and/or hospital nursing experience
- Cerner documentation experience
- Previous traveler (travel nurse) experience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; EHR experience)
- Pain Management, Surgical Services, Specialty Clinic, or procedural nursing experience strongly preferred
- Ability to work in both clinic and surgical service environments
