Responsibilities
- Deliver PT assistant services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist, following the established plan of care.
- Facilitate therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, range of motion, and functional mobility for older adults.
- Assist with patient positioning, transfers, daily activities, and other rehabilitation tasks as directed.
- Document patient status, progress, and any changes in patient records; communicate effectively with the PT and therapy team.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy space; follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and discharge instructions to promote continuity of care.
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant license or eligibility as required by state
- Ability to work in a skilled nursing facility setting on a travel assignment
- Experience in geriatric or long-term care rehabilitation preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work the listed shift with guaranteed hours and adapt to assignment needs
