Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care for a patient population in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Administer medications and monitor patients for changes in condition; respond to emergencies per protocol.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case management, and other team members to coordinate care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, plans, progress notes, and orders in the electronic medical record (EPIC); ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff and assistive personnel as assigned; delegate appropriately.
- Educate patients and families, promote safety and infection control, and support smooth transitions of care.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice (California); current, unrestricted license required.
- Education: BSN preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS per American Heart Association guidelines required (ARC options acceptable); EPIC experience required.
- Experience: At least two years of recent acute care/med-surg experience preferred; ability to work in a Med/Surg/Telemetry unit.
- Additional: Ability to work a day shift schedule; capacity to work in a fast-paced acute care environment; strong critical thinking and communication skills.
