Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to ED patients, including triage, assessment, monitoring, and re-assessment.
- Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including starting IVs and titrating prescribed drips.
- Perform essential ED procedures (EKG interpretation, patient stabilization, and coordination of care with physicians and allied staff).
- Utilize the electronic medical record (EPIC) for documentation, orders, and communication; maintain accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage a high patient census, including boarding and psychiatric patients, while maintaining patient safety and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with ancillary services (CNA/PCT, unit clerks, crisis clinicians, respiratory therapy) to support patient flow and care delivery.
- Adhere to unit protocols, 12-leat-hour bed management, and medication administration processes; comply with the facility’s zero-tolerance policy for personal device use on the unit.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current NY license as a Registered Nurse or proof of licensure application in progress
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required; NIHSS required prior to start; TNCC must be active or show prior class completion
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical ER experience; minimum 1 year of ER specialty experience; prior travel experience preferred
- EMR: Epic experience within the past two years
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume ER with fluctuating patient ratios (1:5 or higher at times); ability to handle boarded patients and psychiatric cases within the general assignment
