Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for CCU patients, including monitoring hemodynamics, administering medications, and initiating/maintaining supportive devices as appropriate.
- Float to ICU, ER, Med/Surg, and MS/TST units as needed, with adherence to unit-specific protocols and patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans; participate in rounds and patient/family education.
- Perform continuous assessment, respond to clinical changes, and escalate concerns per policy; document care and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
- Manage invasive lines, ventilator support, and cardiopulmonary interventions within scope of practice and unit standards.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient privacy guidelines; demonstrate professionalism and teamwork at all times.
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license.
- BSN degree required.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) or RQI, and NIHSS.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Critical Care units.
- Cross-trained for multi-unit care and able to float to ICU/ER/MS/MST.
- Basic Coronary Care knowledge within 6 months of hire; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer literacy; ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced CCU with varying patient acuity.
